Gluten Free Dinner Out at McCormick & Schmick’s

I have a short list of restaurants that I can usually count on for a true gluten free lunch or dinner out.  McCormick & Schmick’s is one of them!

Although my inherent frugality always leads in my decision making, being gluten, grain, and soy free has forced me to sometimes reorder that as a priority.  Thankfully, I don’t have to choose between the two with a visit to McCormick’s Happy Hour!

The price is unbelievable!  For only $3.95* during the week, I can get this excellent Kobe beef burger, with my choice of cheese (mozzarella, provolone, or cheddar); it comes dressed with tomato, lettuce, and onion.  I chose to complement my cheeseburger with a side of green beans sauteed in olive oil (the French Fries, though stated as gluten free on the menu, are fried in a common fryer and are highly likely to be cross-contaminated from breaded items).

• *They do require a beverage purchase if ordering from the Happy Hour menu (see below); I ordered a fresh-squeezed lemonade and added seltzer water to it! Yum!

I find the staff to be very willing to accommodate when I explain my intolerance to multiple foods, which can be hard to come by!

If you can’t make it during Happy Hour, they also have a full menu of fresh, wild-caught seafood that they can prepare without breading, steaks and seafood that are delicious!  You will want to request that they clean the grill first or pan saute your fish or meat choice to avoid cross-contamination.  They have many delicious salads and hot vegetables to choose from as well on their gluten free menu.
